If you are or have been in jail or prison
Well, now's your chance. I want your story. My name is Valerie Borrego, and I'm publishing a series of books about women who have been in jail or prison because of the vicious cycle of addictions. The books will be nothing but stories from women like you. These stories are intended to help other women who have been in jail or prison, maybe many times, who want to leave the jail life behind, heal themselves and live a new and better life. Your prison doesn't have to be physical bars, keys, and concrete walls. Addictions are a prison in themselves.
I want women who are or have been in jail or prison to know there are other choices they can make. They know there are women like them in the world, but maybe they never thought the stories of others could help. Help has arrived. That's what these books are about. Money from the sales of these books will go to support a non-profit organization providing counseling and other services for healing and guiding women like you. Men who apply to this foundation will also be considered.
The first book will be about the women of either Gila County Jail or Navajo County Jail -- and which book is published first will depend on which group of stories gets filled up first. I need twelve (12) stories from each place. Of all the stories I hope to receive, the 12 most inspiring, helpful and hope-filled will be published, so make it good, but it has to be 100% true and genuine.
If you would like to tell your story, here are the requirements:
Your story will be edited for spelling, grammar, capitalization, punctuation, sentence and paragraph structure. The content will remain unchanged.
When you have your story written and it says what you want it to say, you can email it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing your story with many others who can be helped by the progress you've made.
Thank you for sharing!
